ABOUT TLC GREYHOUND ADOPTION

TLC Greyhound Adoption was started in 1996 by Deb Sanford and her sister, Sheryl Werner. They have a boarding kennel in the country near Abilene, Kansas, in what might be termed "deep in the heart of Greyhound Country".

They received a call one day from someone at the Greyhound Hall of Fame asking if they could board a litter of seven greyhound pups. At only a year old, it was obvious that there wasn't a runner in the bunch! Although they were only supposed to be there for a short time, they stayed and stayed, and the sisters found adoptive homes for all 7 of them. Thus began TLC Greyhound Adoption.

TLC Greyhound Adoption works with farm and kennel owners and operators in the Solomon and Abilene, KS area to place greyhounds in need of adoptive homes. In January 2000, we began the Kansas Correctional Facility Greyhound Project together with the Kansas Department of Corrections. Click here for more information about this exciting program.
