Kids and greyhound puppies...a socialization visit (for the kids or the puppies?) at Moore Greyhound Farm!
The dogs listed and pictured below are currently available for adoption (unless otherwise noted). If you are interested in any of these greyhounds, please refer to our adoption application for more information. As of August 1, 2006 the adoption fee is $175.00 unless otherwise noted. Your adoption fee check must be sent with your application to be considered. If, for any reason your application is denied, your check will be returned.
Updates:
Please note that due to safety issues, TLC does NOT consider "Invisible Fencing", or underground fencing an acceptable fence for greyhounds. A secure, 4 to 6 foot FENCE, enclosing part or most of a yard is a REQUIREMENT! Invisible fencing doesn't keep the "bad guys" out of your yard.
Reminder -- Transportation of dogs adopted through TLC is the responsibility of the adopter. If you adopt a dog from us, please plan to pick up your dog at our facility (Country Kennels), located at 323 2400 Avenue, Solomon, Kansas, between the hours of 1:30 and 7:00 p.m. We do not have the resources to transport dogs or to arrange for GUR runs.
Because of Warden Sam Kline's discontinuation of the Kansas Correctional Facilities Greyhound Project, we no longer have any TLC greyhounds being fostered at the prison.
We will continue to work with prospective adopters to provide the best greyhound fit for their home. TLC Greyhound Adoption is different in that we adopt to qualified homes in all states and Canada. We also work with families with young children - we believe that with the proper training of the greyhound, adults and children, there's a lot of love to be shared.
Gwendolyn
Gwendolyn is a gorgeous, slim gal - white with BLUE patches. She was born July, 2004 of sire: Brother Ken; dam: I'm Calli. Gwendolyn was in a home with other greyhounds most of her life. She's being re-homed because of her Mom's recent illness. Gwendolyn has been in my home as a foster - with a cat and small dogs. She's intrigued with the cat, but our brave kitty just ignores her. Gwendolyn would also be great as an only dog - she LOVES to be petted, stroked and told how beautiful she is.
Lucy
SPECIAL NEEDS GIRL...REDUCED ADOPTION FEE! Lucy is a DARK brindle girl, born September 3, 2005 of sire: State of the Art; dam: River Fleet. Lucy was in a home with small dogs and cats - because of her owner's illness, she's come back to TLC. Lucy is currently in my home with greys and cat. She's 5 1/2 years old, but still acts like a playful pup. Lucy has been diagnosed with a seizure disorder and is on medication to reduce/prevent the seizures.Tora
Chasmo's Tora is a beautiful brindle female with a black mask and cute floppy ears. She was born June 1, 2004 of sire: Duece's Wild; dam: Chasmo's Peggy. Tora had a successful racing career racing in 126 races! Don't let Tora's age of 7 fool you into thinking she's a senior...according to her foster Mom, she acts like a 2 year old. She's very affectionate and loves to sit in a recliner with her foster Dad! She always wants to know what is going on. She loves playing with squeaky toys, running and playing outside and laying on her cozy pillow. She has been in a foster home with 3 male greyhounds and a very bossy elderly female chihuahua and has gotten along well with everyone. She would be great with kids as well but might be a little exuberant with very young children.
